Michigan vs UConn: Dominance Meets Dynasty

Two powerhouse programs are set to collide Monday night in Indianapolis, as Michigan takes on UConn for the national title.

Michigan (-300) is chasing its first championship since long before the Fab Five era, while UConn (+250) is looking to add another chapter to its dynasty - a third title in four years and seventh overall.

Michigan has steamrolled its way here.

The Wolverines haven’t really been tested, with their closest game a 13-point win over Alabama. Their most impressive performance came in the Final Four, where they ran a bigger, more physical Arizona team off the floor in a game that felt over by halftime.

Even with leading scorer Yaxel Lendeborg dealing with an injury, Michigan enters the final as a 6.5-point favourite - a reflection of just how dominant they’ve been over the past two weeks.

UConn’s path? Much messier.

The Huskies barely survived Michigan State in the Sweet 16 and needed late-game heroics to get past Duke in the Elite Eight. Even in their Final Four win over Illinois, they went ice cold for a five-minute stretch that could’ve cost them, but Illinois couldn’t capitalize.

They didn’t come out unscathed either, with key guard Solo Ball now in a walking boot and questionable for the title game.

Still, if there’s one thing we’ve learned about UConn under Dan Hurley, it’s they’re never out of it.

No matter the injuries, the close calls, or the odds, this is a program that knows how to win when it matters most.

Now, it all comes down to this - a red-hot Michigan team versus a battle-tested UConn dynasty.

One game. One title.

And it should be a great one.
