Blue Jays Ready to Take Another Swing at Glory in 2026

After a season for the ages that came just short in 2025, the Toronto Blue Jays are back and there’s plenty to get excited about as the 2026 campaign gets underway.

From championship odds to MVP races, the Jays are all over the MLB futures board heading into Opening Day.

AL and World Series Outlook

After winning the AL pennant last year, the Blue Jays are right back in the mix. They open the season third on the American League odds board at +640, sitting behind two familiar names - the Yankees (+450) and Mariners (+500) - both teams Toronto knocked out in last year’s postseason.

When it comes to the World Series, the Jays are listed at +1600, right in the middle of a tightly packed group of contenders. And it makes sense. The core is still intact, and while Bo Bichette moved on in free agency, the team made a big splash by bringing in Kazuma Okamoto, a six-time NPB All-Star with serious power.

AL MVP Race

If you’re looking for a Blue Jay to bring home some hardware, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the obvious place to start.

He’s picked up MVP votes in four of the last five seasons, including a second-place finish in 2021, and sits at +1300 heading into this year. That puts him fifth on the board behind Aaron Judge (+200), Bobby Witt Jr. (+500), and a pair of Mariners in Cal Raleigh (+750) and Julio Rodriguez (+1200).

Home Run Leader

Want even more Vladdy? He’s also in the mix for the home run crown.

The 2021 home run leader comes in at +3000, sitting ninth overall. But he may have some competition closer to home, with newcomer Okamoto right behind him at +4000.

AL Rookie of the Year

Speaking of Okamoto, he’s expected to be a major factor in the Rookie of the Year race.

The 29-year-old third baseman opens at +475, second on the odds board just behind his own teammate, Trey Yesavage at +400.

Yesavage already got a taste of the big leagues late last season and made the most of it. Across nine appearances in the regular season and playoffs, he went 4-1 and racked up 55 strikeouts, turning plenty of heads along the way.

AL Cy Young Picture

Even with Yesavage expected to start the season out of the rotation due to injury, the Jays still have some strong arms to lean on.

Dylan Cease (+3000) and Kevin Gausman (+3500) both sit just outside the top tier of Cy Young contenders, but they’ve got the kind of talent and potential win totals to climb the board as the season unfolds.

With another deep roster, big expectations, and a fanbase ready for more, the Blue Jays look poised to make another serious run in 2026.
